I love being a photographer, but I have a lot more going on in my life right now. If you didn’t know it I hold down a day job as a paralegal. (One day I will have a comic book about my life as a paralegal by day, crime fighting photographer by night, but I digress.) I am also a mom who is way too involved with my girls with their Girl Scout Troops. I’m a fiancé who is getting Married in May which also means I’m a daughter stressed out over family of origin stuff too! This morning I had a total melt down with my fiancé on the phone about how I’m not even feeling like a good Mom because I haven’t tucked the girls in for 2 nights this week.
This week is my life’s perfect storm. Perfect Storm….when several rare circumstances converge on each other and result in an aggravated situation. All aspects of my life are converging on each other. Busy work week, three nights of Girl Scout meetings, Continuing Legal Ed workshop after work yesterday, appointments for hair, wedding fittings and misc. wedding errands, and two wonderful photoshoots all happening this week. Add in the start of Holy Week on Sunday, planning for Easter and getting chores done around the house and I’m toast.
It is appropriate that Beth’s You Capture Assignment this week is “Moment”
I’ve taken a moment at work to just sip on some iced tea, read a few blogs and breathe deeply.
this is me, trying to relax a little at work
am I convincing you?
I know I need to slow down and not stress. Easier said than done. I promise that I will take more moments during the weeks ahead before the wedding to relax and not be so wound up. Learning to say no helps–a lot. And believe it or not I’m getting better at saying NO.

I love you.
You’re beautiful.
Love you too!
Thanks for being there for me!
Oh man do I ever know how you feel. Last year I got married while having to work 2 jobs and a myriad of other disasters. Life hasn’t seemed to slow down since
Life comes in waves like that, sometimes so busy you can hardly stand it, and then other times it seems to slow down so you can enjoy it more.
At least you know where you’re at. That’s a great start. So is slowing down to sip iced tea and read blogs…
I hope the stress smoothes out a bit.
