WARNING: Proud Mama Post Ahead…
This afternoon we went to Lowe’s to get some plants for the house. We are trying desperately to get the house in order before our families come for the wedding. When we were in the garden center my eldest daughter Emmie flagged me over to some plants. She wanted me to give her my camera. I usually have at least my point and shoot camera with me at all times. Today, of course I didn’t have it in my purse. She was so upset because she saw a “perfect shot”. I could see the disappointed look in her eyes so I gave her my Blackberry. She snapped a few pictures. When I grabbed my phone a few minutes ago I had almost forgotten about the pictures she took. When I opened up my picture file I was blown away by the photos she took.
Emmie was drawn to this water droplet–I think it’s time to teach her about Macro Photography

I really wish I had my SLR for her to use, the colors were vibrant

I believe she is developing a passion for photography![]()

I’m very proud of her. A photo she took last fall made it all the way to State in a PTA contest. It is now hanging in a State Office Building Downtown! How is it that my kiddo has a photo in a gallery before I do?
It is wonderful that she loves photography. We will continue to encourage her to pursue her passion. I am sure she will be the only 10 year old around shooting with a Canon 20D! I’m sure she’ll be second shooting with me in no time!

That’s amazing!!! How fun! I love watching kids’ personalities and passions develop
Those are gorgeous shots! Definitely time to teach her about Macro shooting and WOW to the state finals!
If you ever want her to come with you and take pics of us whenever we do a shoot, Glen and I would be happy to pose for her. If she wanted to she could even take some photos at the reception at our wedding
It is SO cool that she is so into this, she looks up to you so much! And she has her momma’s eye
Haha April that would be great. Maybe I could pay her to be my official shooter at your wedding! I’d make her dress in all black and really WORK! She might become the youngest wedding photographer ever! LOL!
