When planning a trip to Hawaii you expect to see water, I mean, it’s an island folks. I guess what I didn’t expect is how that water would look. The water in Hawaii is so blue and so clear. There is a wide variety of beaches; rocky, sugar sand, muddy, and rocky. The water is clear and cool on every beach, teaming with fish and turtles. For a Texas girl who grew up with muddy river, lakes and Gulf this was a real treat for me. I really don’t think photos can capture the beauty of the water in Hawaii. Here are a few of my favorite water shots.
The Black Sand Beaches

The surf crashing against the lava formations

The Blowhole on Oahu

This is a nature preserve. They filmed “Blue Hawaii” here. I wish we would have had time to snorkel there.

These are just a few of the 1300 images I took in Hawaii. I was thrilled to see that the YOU CAPTURE assignment for this week was water, because I knew I would have plenty of shots for this post. If you want to see more pictures of water head over to Beth’s page and check out the other blogs.
If you are interested in viewing my pictures from Hawaii I’ve posted them on my website in the Gallery. You can see Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE. I’m sure it’s like any other slide show of vacation photos, I just hope they are more artistic and representative of the beauty of the Islands.
