***PLEASE NOTE, NO PICTURES ON THIS PAGE WERE TAKEN BY ROBINWOOD PHOTOGRAPHY. I, INSTEAD, AM THE SUBJECT OF THESE PHOTOS CIRCA 1993.***
When I was a Senior in High School (way back in 1993) my grandmother offered to pay for my Senior Portraits. She found a little studio in the mall that would shoot your session and have proofs to you in one hour. We showed up, no appointment needed, snapped off about 12 shots and were done. After a quick lunch in the food court we headed back and picked up my proofs.
There was the traditional cap and gown photo. I hated this photo. The “diploma” was a rolled up piece of paper showing the photographer’s specials for the day. Also note that I was wearing my boyfriend’s class ring. That didn’t make Mimmie too happy. Now looking back she was right, I broke up with that boyfriend in college, but his ring lives on forever in my picture.

Cheesy props galore at this studio. Somehow a column in the middle of a white backdrop is good how?? We won’t even start with that horrid dress or the white Swatch watch.

Yet another column–this time add denim. Classy!

Finally, my letter jacket! Something that reflects my personality as a Senior. But I was leaning against a ladder, doing the hand shelf? This is good how?? We won’t even start with the horrible glare that is on my glasses. (Thank God for Lasik!)

I embarrass myself by posting these retched pictures to help you or anyone you know who is a Senior. Don’t let them become a statistic like me. Spare your Senior from years of embarrassment with photos that are cliche’ and not cool. Prevent the memories of your Senior year from being forever preserved as images that look overly posed or nerdy.
Robinwood Photography is now booking the Class of 2011 for Senior Pictures. Senior sessions personalized for your Senior’s personality. There are no cheesy ladders or columns. Instead we search for graffiti walls, historical landmarks or secluded piers on a country lake. Seniors are encouraged to bring props that reflect their personality: instruments, cell phones, computers, sports gear, letter jackets, dance costumes, etc. Senior sessions can be at multiple locations to further reflect the Senior’s personality.
Now is the perfect time to schedule a Senior Session. The longer days of summer allows for sessions during the week. Contact me today to schedule a session. My mission is help Seniors have great portraits that they won’t cringe when they see 17 years later.
